Dottie Herman Awards and Recognitions
Dottie has been honored throughout her career for her contributions to the communities she serves, the organizations she supports and the industry she leads.
In May of 2008 Dottie was named one of the WCBS Women of the Month. Dottie was also named one of the 100 most influential women in New York by Crain’s New York Business. She was honored by Adelphi University as the 2007 Outstanding Executive on Long Island. She has had numerous articles written about her accomplishments as a leader in business.
At special invitation, Dottie participated in this year’s Festival of Thinkers held in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. She joined Nobel laureates and world leaders in discussing such topics as Theme 1: Future Challenges- Protecting our Environment, Theme 2: Future of the World: Water and Energy and Sustainable Development, Theme 3: Future Changes: Globalization, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Theme 4: Role of Media in Impacting Future Changes, Theme 5 : Future Challenges- A Vision for Children and Women of the World, Theme 6 : Future Opportunities- Health and Wellness, Theme 7: Rising from the Ashes – Japan special, Theme 8: Moving beyond Conflicts, Theme 9: Preparing Creative and Responsible Citizens: Role of Educators, Theme 10: Future Opportunities: Entrepreneurship and Poverty Alleviation. One of the journalists on the trip kept a daily journal of the event.
Dottie took a leadership role in this year’s Cutting Through the Red Tape: Building Long Island Today, an effort by the Long Island business community to focus on the needs of the area by various thought leaders.
A long term supporter of the American Heart Association, Dottie spoke at one of their events that brought together women from all walks of life to become aware of the symptoms of this deadly disease as they differ from what a man feels when he is suffering a heart attack.
Dottie sits on the board of The Tilles Center for the Performing Arts in Brookville, Long Island. She is actively involved in the North Shore Long Island Jewish Hospital and supports the Southampton Hospital each year. She was honored at the Artists Against Abuse Retreat, at the annual awards luncheon of God’s Love We Deliver and by the Association of Real Estate Women and ORT for her contributions to the real estate industry. Plus, she was named by Inman News as one of the top 10 people to watch in the real estate industry. |
